ASUS X53S Windows XPdrivers and tips to install

1. If you try to install Windows XP, you get the: “Setup did not find any hard disk drives” message at the first stage of installing Windows XP.

2. There are no drivers on the official website of asus. The model X53Sg is not even available there. A cd with only Vista drivers was available with the notebook, so I decided to post a guide on how to install XP and all of the drivers for winXP which I found through the net. They are all working perfectly, but they are not available on the asus website.

SOLUTION

1. Passing “Setup did not find any hard disk drives” message on Windows XP Installation
The first thing you have to do is set SATA Mode to Compatible in your BIOS. You should enter the BIOS hitting the F2 key right after the notebook is started. Just navigate to the Advanced tab with your arrow keys, press Enter to the first option IDE Configuration to open it, and then again press enter to the first option SATA Operation Mode to change it to Compatible. If you want to leave SATA mode to enhanced, you can install windows by attaching an USB Floppy Device, and by inserting a previously made floppy with the intel sata drivers for xp, or you could try to slipstream the drivers into Windows XP and install. But I personally wouldn’t go through that much of a pain, because I haven’t noticed any difference between the two modes of SATA.

FOR THE ATI DRIVER check http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php ... great tool and tutorial. Work 100%

The JMicro sata driver must need to be instaled manualy.

Another method of installing Xp on this model is to use nLite to create a WindowsXp boot disk in wich to integrate s-ata driver. This method work great with other models of laptops and desktop pc, but this method has some failures, you need to know the exact s-ata chip in order to integrate the driver and get rid of “Setup did not find any hard disk drives”. For this method it is beter to use a CD-RW to burn the image created by nLite, you may not succed for the first time.
I dont use anymore the method with nLite , but I there are laptops that can`t be install either.

To use nLite download below links

Reset CANON PIXMA IP5000 printer

To reset the counter or to find out about it´s reading you have to use the service mode.
Turn off the printer, push the resume button and keep on pushing.
Press the power button and keep on pushing. Now let go off the resume button,
but not the power button. Push the resume button twice, then let go off all buttons.
You are now in service mode.

To leave the service mode, give the power button one push.

Push the resume button once, after that the power button once.
The first information page appears.
Push reume twice, then power once: You get the second page.

Newer PIXMA-printers print the first page as a test for the nozzles.
The second page contains a lot of information.

Our advice: Print the second page before and after reset of the waste ink counter.
Only then can you be sure that the reset was a success.

To reset the waste ink counter right now, push resume four times and after that power once.

Important: Before starting with normal printing again, switch off the printer.
That gets you out of service mode.

Then switch on the printer again and print as you like.

I think this procedure may work on IP4000/3000 or newer models
